Vincent Kompany Rejects World Cup Punditry Offers, Focused On Bayern Munich Duties

Vincent Kompany has ruled out any involvement in punditry for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, firmly dismissing the idea while reaffirming his commitment to his role at Bayern Munich.

“Absolutely no chance!” Kompany said when asked about taking up media duties during the tournament.

He further explained his decision, stressing his focus on family and club responsibilities. “Why would I do that in vacation time? Then I wouldn’t have any family in Munich next season. No chance,” he added.

Kompany has already enjoyed a successful season in charge of FC Bayern Munich, guiding the club to the Bundesliga title with four matches still remaining. The team remains in contention for further silverware, having reached the semi-finals of both the UEFA Champions League and the DFB-Pokal.
