Charles III, the King of the United Kingdom and the 14 other Commonwealth realms in a heartwarming video, posted on the Royal Family Channel got a group hug from New Zealand women’s rugby team, which he described as ‘very healing.’
The Monarch whom had hosted the Blackferns at the Buckingham Palace on 11th September ahead of their match against England’s Red Roses at Twickenham, had apologized ahead saying he’s “extremely sorry” he won’t be able to travel to New Zealand to watch their match in October, explaining it’s the “Doctors orders,” and advice he revealed was from cancer medics.
His Majesty had added: “you don’t stay young for very young as I’ve discovered. It all goes quicker than you think”.
Against protocols that prominent personalities at functions forbid anyone to touch a member of the royal unless they extend a handshake or a hug from their end, winger Ayesha Leti-I’iga had requested group hug from King Charles, stating that: “”Yeah, we all wanted a hug. But only if it’s okay with you.”
Taken by surprise, the 75-year-old had replied: “”why not?” Clad in their black sports uniform, the team went forward to hug the King with a warm embrace, which drew a witty response from king Charles 111
