Police Operatives has arrested two male adult alleged to be political thug aiming to disrupt the September 21st governorship election in Edo state.
The suspects identified as Edwin Obanor, 43-year-old and Audu Tajudeen, a 41-year-old are reported to be affiliated with the People Democratic Party (PDP) from Ugbogbo quarters, Igara Akoko, in the state.
This was disclosed in a press statement released by the Nigerian Police Public Relation Officer stating that firearms were realized from the suspects and vowing curb violence during the election.
“police arrest political thugs, recovers firearms in overnight raids, vows to deal with illegal arms bearers and trouble makers the Nigeria police force has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to curb electoral violence in Edo State” the statement read.
