‘I MADE A WHOLE FILM CRITIQUING APC’S POLITICAL IDEOLOGY AND STRUCTURE FOR WHICH I WAS TARGETED AND SUED TO COURT!’ JADE OSIBERU By Adeoye Olorunseun Elizabeth

Jade Osiberu, renowned film producer in a post revealed she was sued to court for the production of her movie ‘Gang of Lagos’ for daring to expose the ideology of the Nigeria’s ruling party.
Osiberu who was called to task by a X user @Orji_Okosisi1 for subtly tweeting her thought about the hardship of the current administration while her activities were idling, had posted: “My to do list is mad long but what have I been doing all day? Social media dopamine scrolling. In T-pain’s economy?! Wonderful!”
However the Peter Obi supporter (Orji Okosisi) in the past presidential election, unearthed Osiberu’s May 2022 post on social media where she submitted her opinion about Obi’s presidential speech, stressing that what the country needed was someone who could think out of the box, stressing:
“I like the idea of someone who is frugal and has integrity running Nigeria but after hearing Peter Obi speak, I fear he is the guy you trust to keep your money but not to multiply your wealth and Nigeria need the latter. We need a big thinker(s) to dig us out of this economic hole.”
Okosisi had labelled the film producer a ‘tribal bigot’ for expressing her concern about the economic turmoil reminding her of her submission about his preferred presidential candidate, hinting that she doesn’t have a right to complain as she have to live with the choice she voted for.
@Orji_Okosisi1: “Were you not d same tribal bigot who said during the election that, he’s good at multiplying wealth, while Peter Ob isn’t? How come you’re now calling him “T-pain?” I detest folks like you with every fiber of my being. This was you during d 2023 Presidential election buildup.”
The film producer while responding to the tweet had revealed that she was sued for making a movie (Gang of Lagos) that exposes the ideology of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and had vehemently slammed back at her accuser while affirming that she still doesn’t believe Peter Obi is qualified for the office of a president.
In her words: “You guys have been going wild since yesterday on this one tweet. I made a whole film critiquing APC’s political ideology and structure for which I was targeted and sued to court! I did not believe in Peter Obi either which is my right and doesn’t make me a tribal bigot!
“This is part of the critical thinking problem I was talking about yesterday. You idiots combed through my entire timeline and couldn’t find a tweet supporting the current administration but you found a tweet that isn’t in support of your messiah and I’m a bigot?! You’re idiots!
“You cannot bully and insult people into believing in a candidate. You can engage intellectually and provide evidence that would convince them. At least that’s what you would expect sensible people to do.” She added.
Supporting Osiberu’s points were a few who tweeted under the post on the premises that once you are of the Yoruba tribe, you are automatically aligned for the failure/hardship of the President Tinubu’s administration.
@Themandemi: “Doesn’t matter that you made a film that was against APC, your name is enough to indict you as a bigot. You are dealing with mad people. They don’t listen at all. They project their nonsense and think everyone’s is as such.”
@iamaleshinloye: “Critical thinking is needed most of you read but don’t comprehend. Anyone who doesn’t support your messiah is a tribal big0t or working for APC.”
@Kaypling: “Tribal bigot cos she didn’t support a governor who failed. It’s crazy how when ppl are criticizing BAT, you guys sneak in PO like he’s a viable alternative”
Orji have some people in his corner who faulted the thoughts and believe of the film producer while still labeling her a bigot
@SheunAdeola: “Your entire premise is flawed. You claimed PO cannot grow wealth without any proof or validation to this. When in reality the man is a business tycoon with many traceable investments. You’re free to support whoever you want, however you are not free to make spurious claims.”
@ManOfNumbers_: “I’m really dissapointed in you. Peter cannot multiply wealth after running several businesses successfully. So which politician in Nigeria today has multiplied wealth. Keep deceiving yourself lady bigot.”
@DiceOfTruth: “Nigeria does not actually need a big thinker, but just an honest one. Refineries haven’t worked in 30years not becauses they can’t work but the dishonesty of all involved in stealing the money. Dangote refinery is working in the same Nigeria. It doesn’t take a big thinker to insist on law breakers to be brought to book or stop the ease of our money leaving it shores. They know the rate goes up once FAC is paid, so what is the complication in stopping the trend. Peter Obi would have brought the simple common sense to governmence… not rewarding the NNPCL chair with extending his stay when he failed to make one refinery work since 2019. There is nothing complicated about Nigeria’s problem, just being ruled by thieves.”
@nwankwo_md: “Igbophobia is what gets them excited. I just wish some of our people will realize that our potential can never be reached in this hateful contraption.”
@Orji_Okosisi1: “gbophobia, nothing else. Their congenital hatred for the Igbos, was the reason why they chose a disaster over success. They knew the man would be a disaster, but instead of an Igbo man getting there, let the country perish.”
