The General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye has apologized for tying Christians going to heaven to the payment of tithes.
Adeboye in a video addressing some of the congregations acknowledged his mistakes revealing that it’s not in the bible
According to the RCCG leader : “I am going to be apologizing, for making a mistake, for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven, I’m sorry.
“That’s not in the bible, what the bible says is, He is at peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see God.”
He made use of light as an analogy while encouraging Christians to learn how to give more than the 10% being paid as tithes.
“You know it is possible to be right and wrong at the same time, I prove it to you. I may been scientist, so I know that. For years we thought that light travels in straight lines , at least those of you who knows a little of physics, but later we discovered that light is not straight as a rod , light travels in waves, going in one direction but in waves.
“It is wrong to limit you to 10%, at a time where some of you should be paying 20/30/40%, 10% should be for beginners, giving should be violently.”
