The governor expressed his gratitude to the federal government for the palliative support, assuring that it would be distributed fairly and responsibly.
He assured that the state government has already constituted the committee for the distribution of palliative, calling on the committee to ensure that the palliative reaches the targeted beneficiaries
He said the distribution committees at local and ward levels include Members of Katsina State House of Assembly, security agencies, and representatives from religious groups, among others, to ensure fair and efficient distribution of the rice.
Chairman of the committee in charge of the northwest, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on political matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari led the federal government delegation to launch the distribution of the palliative at Peoples Square, Government House, Katsina.
Masari stated that the distribution of palliative is part of the federal government Food Support Programme aimed at ameliorating hardship occasioned by the rise in prices of food items and other basic amenities
In his words: “It was also borne out of president Tinubu’s led federal government resolve to cushion the effect of hardship being experienced by Nigerians as a result of current economic measures being implemented by the federal government.
“The rice distribution, aimed at alleviating the current economic hardship faced by citizens, will reach various segments of the population, including vulnerable women and youth groups at various ward and local government levels in this state.
“When this administration came on board it discovered that a lot of sacrifices need to be done in order to get things working for the betterment of the country.
“Mr. President has appreciated your support and continued cooperation in enduring the bold step taken by his administration to ensure that the country is put back on the right track,” he said.
The chairman of the committee assured Nigerians that President Tinubu will ensure that his policies bring light at the end of the tunnel.
According to him, “This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s commitment to rebuilding the country’s future.”
