In readiness for Hurricane Milton landfall, the president of the United State of America, Joe Biden has approved of “an emergency declaration.” Biden stated this on his verified X handle late on Monday: “I just approved an emergency declaration from the State of Florida and ordered federal assistance to supplement response efforts that may arise due to emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Milton.” He acknowledged that there are devises being put in place to assist the state as the hurricane hit category 5. “We expect this storm to again make landfall in western Florida and are working quickly to preposition federal response personnel and assets.” POTUS also revealed that he has spoken with Florida Governor and Tamper Mayor, Ron DeSantis and Jane Castor respectively on information pertaining the looming hurricane. He assured Americans that is administration is ready to support the people of Florida as several steps are in place to cushion the effect. In his words:”I spoke with Florida Governor DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Castor for firsthand reports on Hurricane Helene recovery and preparations for Hurricane Milton. “My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need. “I also spoke with National Weather Service Director Ken Graham regarding the expected impacts of Hurricane Milton for the state of Florida. “I urge all those in the storm’s path to evacuate now while it is safe to do so.” President Biden encouraged residents. More than 50 counties along Florida’s west coast are now under state of emergency orders and several are under evacuation orders, including Charlotte, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota. All evacuation orders are listed on Florida’s Division of Emergency Management website. The storm is expected to weaken, but will still be a major Category 3 hurricane by the time it makes landfall in Florida late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. A record-breaking storm surge of 8 to 12 feet is expected in the Tampa Bay area, as Floridians continue cleaning up from the 6 to 8 feet of storm surge that was just brought on by Hurricane Helene.
