A controversial social media influencer Daniel Regha, has shade Ayodeji Balogun also known as wizkid on the release of his new track ‘Piece of My Heart.’
Regha rating the track claimed that there is no creativity in the new art of music star, affirming that rather churn out qualitative work, the new release has the same vibe like the old songs though calm which he stressed ‘could have been better written.’
According to the influencer on X timeline: “Wizkid’s “Piece Of My Heart” ft. Brent Faiyaz gives the same vibe as his old work; While the track is calm, there’s no evolution in his artistry or song writing, & the track sounds much like afrobeats which is ironic since he claimed not to be an afrobeats artist earlier this year.
“Furthermore, the chorus contradicts with the post-chorus & could’ve been better written. That said, Wizkid needs to write about other subjects cos part 1 & 2 of the track sounds the same.
“He isn’t pushing his pen cos he knows fans will hype/listen to anything he puts out regardless the quality, & this has led to his obvious creative decl!ne. Hopefully there are better songs in the unreleased album. It’s a 3/10 for both parts. No offense.” Regha rated
“piece of my heart ” had reportedly hits 500k streams on Audiomark in just 15hrs
Recall that earlier in the month Wizkid, who is set to drop his much-anticipated album Morayo, took to social media to throw jabs at David Adeleke professionally known as Davido, his onetime friend, seemingly to stir up buzz and maintain his relevance in the highly competitive Nigerian music industry.
Wizkid’s tweet came in response to a fan who questioned why the singer always seems to reignite his beef with Davido ahead of his music releases.
The fan’s comment suggested that Wizkid uses the controversy to capture media attention and intensify fan rivalry, keeping both fan bases actively engaged. In his response, Wizkid denied any deliberate attempt to stoke the feud, but he didn’t hold back from making inflammatory comments about Davido.
In his viral tweet, Wizkid referred to Davido as “Frogido,” a derogatory play on Davido’s voice, which he mockingly described as hazy.
Wizkid also added that he believes Davido lacks talent, claiming there is no legitimate reason for him to engage in any serious rivalry with him. Instead, he dismissed Davido’s musical abilities as “wack,” adding that he was only “stating the obvious.”
This latest exchange has once again drawn the attention of fans, with many speculating that Wizkid is using the feud as a strategic move to drum up excitement ahead of Morayo’s release.
