Tunisia Dismiss Sabri Lamouchi After Heavy World Cup Defeat To Sweden

Tunisia have officially parted ways with head coach Sabri Lamouchi following a crushing 5–1 loss to Sweden in their opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lamouchi’s spell in charge lasted just five months and one day (152 days), despite being appointed on a two-and-a-half-year deal scheduled to run until July 2028.

During his brief tenure, the 54-year-old oversaw five matches, recording one victory, one draw, and three defeats. The decision comes after a worrying run of form that saw Tunisia concede 11 goals across their last three consecutive losses, ending with the emphatic World Cup setback against Sweden.

The federation’s move brings an abrupt end to a project that was originally intended to guide the national team through to 2028.
