On Monday, Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate for 2027, demanded President Tinubu’s resigns, citing failures in security, economy, and power supply despite 2023 promises.
Tinubu’s adviser Bayo Onanuga rejected the call as childish, noting Nigeria’s fixed-term presidential system and recent APC election wins, while highlighting GDP growth to 3.89% in Q1 2026, rising reserves over $45 billion, and security gains with over 13,000 terrorists neutralised since 2023.
