Tottenham Hotspur’s explosive second-half display led to a commanding victory over Aston Villa, scoring four times to seal the win.
Aston Villa initially took the lead in the 32nd minute, thanks to Morgan Rogers. Tottenham’s goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario attempted to punch the ball clear, but Rogers was perfectly positioned to slot home the rebound.
The second half saw Tottenham shift into high gear, launching a relentless attack that overwhelmed Villa’s defense. Brennan Johnson equalized immediately after the break, restoring balance to the scoreline. In the 75th minute, Dominic Solanke made it 2-1 with his first Premier League goal since September, capitalizing on an assist from Dejan Kulusevski. Just four minutes later, Solanke struck again, this time assisted by Richarlison, securing his brace.
Substitute James Maddison rounded off the scoring spree with a stunning free-kick, notching his 50th Premier League goal in style.
With this victory, Tottenham climbs into the European spots, now sitting on 16 points with a +11 goal difference. Meanwhile, Aston Villa missed an opportunity to move into the Champions League places after Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle. Villa remains in 6th place with 18 points, level with both Arsenal and Chelsea.
