Brazilian journalist César Luis Merlo said Neymar is ready to return to his boyhood club Santos. Neymar has struggled with injuries this season playing only two matches for Asian giants Al Hilal.
The journalist posted on his official account on X: “Neymar ready to return to Santos.
The club where he debuted already has an agreement with the 32-year-old footballer.
Work is underway to terminate his Al Hilal contract, and the plan is to announce his signing once the tournament marking Peixe’s return to Brazil’s top division is over.”
Neymar’s agent Pini Zahavi denied this rumours: “There are no talks ongoing for Neymar to leave Al Hilal. He’s under contract and very happy there. Neymar’s father & me, we are the only people who can talk about Ney’s future. I don’t know where recent [Santos] rumours are coming from.”
Neymar played for the Santos first team from 2009- 2012. He won six trophies including the 2011 Copa Libertadores and the 2012 Recopa Sudamericana. He was also part of the Santos 2011 FIFA Club World Cup side that lost 4-0 to Barcelona.
