The man assaulted by the Nigeria Army in the video has been identified as Vershima Mker while the lady covering the brutality is the fiancé, Miss Lami Jennifer Iorvihi, both parties has pressed for charges.
The victim through their lawyer Tom Uja & Co. has demanded for the immediate termination of Major General G. S Mohammed, Corporal A. Abubakar and others while demanding for the payment of N150 million in compensation for the injustice suffered in the hand of ‘Men in Uniform.’
“We are the Solicitors to Master Vashima Mker and Miss Lami Jennifer Lorvihi on whose full and firm instructions we demand for the immediate dismissal of Major General G.S Mohammed and Corporal A. Abubakar and the sum of N150 million naira for the inhuman treatment of our clients by beating, subjecting them to abuse, wounding and causing them to be detained at the Police without committing any known crime.” The petition read
The video shown two of the Corporals beating Mr. Vershima with the Major not reprimanding them, while one has demanded that the phone being used for videoing should be handed over.
The victims of the Force brutality had been on 3rd Avenue Gwaringpa Abuja blaring a siren on a crowded road where the incidence took place and had allegedly bashed the military car.
Attached to the petition was a picture of Mr. Vershima with blood on the side of his face.
Mr. Vershima and Miss Lorvihi are reported to be in Abuja visiting relations in preparation of their forth coming wedding.
