The NPFL matchday 16 came to a close yesterday, with Bendel Insurance holding Akwa United to a 1-1 draw. This result helped them stay one point away from safety.

There were some surprising results over the weekend. Ikorodu City lost away to Bayelsa United, marking their first loss in seven league matches. This defeat dropped them out of the automatic CAF places.

Rangers beat Rivers United 1-0 in the top-of-the-table clash, moving within two points of league leaders Remo Stars. Ahmed Musa’s Kano Pillars secured a 1-0 win over Katsina United, jumping to seventh place in the standings.
