Tottenham Hotspur knocked Manchester United out of the Carabao Cup in a thrilling 4-3 victory. Dominic Solanke gave Tottenham the lead after capitalizing on an error from Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir.
Dejan Kulusevski doubled Tottenham’s advantage immediately after the start of the second half. Solanke then scored his second and Tottenham’s third in the 54th minute.
The introduction of Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee in the 55th minute sparked life into the Manchester United side. Fraser Foster’s misplaced pass was intercepted by Bruno Fernandes in the 63rd minute, who then passed the ball to Joshua Zirkzee, allowing him to score.
Foster made another mistake seven minutes later, failing to clear the ball properly, which gave Amad Diallo the opportunity to run in and score. Tottenham regained breathing space when a direct corner from Son Heung-min found the back of the net in the 88th minute.
Manchester United refused to give up, and Johnny Evans gave Tottenham another scare with a headed goal in the 94th minute. However, Spurs managed to hold on to their slender lead and book a place in the semi-finals.
