British Tennis Star Cameron Norrie Gives Public Apology after Throwing Racket at Fan

Cameron Norrie, issued an apology after an incident during his 6-2, 6-3 loss to Facundo Díaz Acosta at the Auckland Classic, where he accidentally threw his racket into the crowd.

The frustrated former world number eight launched his racket, which landed near a spectator.
He immediately approached the front row to apologize to the woman, whom appeared to be perfectly fine.

The umpire warned the 29 year old seriously but didn’t go further by punishing him.

Norrie said after the incidence ;
“I wasn’t meaning to do that, but it’s still not ideal, and I’ve never done anything like that before. She was laughing, and I just said, ‘So sorry, I didn’t mean to do that.’ She replied, ‘Yeah, I’m completely OK.’”

He also apologized publicly, admitting dissatisfaction with his behavior:
“It’s completely out of character for me to do something like that. I apologized immediately, but I also want to apologize more broadly. I’m not happy with how I behaved.”

Norrie will aim to put the loss and incident behind him as he prepares for the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, which begins next week.
