Yoane Wissa has made history by becoming Brentford’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League after finding the net in their clash against Manchester City.
Wissa surpassed Ivan Toney yesterday to achieve this remarkable feat, bringing his tally to 37 Premier League goals. The DR Congo international has been a crucial part of Brentford’s success and is a key figure in the team’s dressing room. With 11 goals and three assists in the Premier League this season, he shows no signs of slowing down.
His partnership with Bryan Mbeumo has been exceptional this season, giving Premier League defenders plenty to worry about. Together, the duo has contributed to 30 goal involvements this season.
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank praised the relationship between the two African strikers, stating: “The partnership between the two of them is quite unique. We are just Brentford, and I am extremely proud.”
Brentford currently sits in 10th place in the Premier League, with 40 goals scored this season. Remarkably, Wissa and Mbeumo have contributed to 90% of those goals, the stat says how vital the pair is to the team’s success.
