Antony, is set to join Real Betis on loan until the end of the season, according to reports by Fabrizio Romano.
Antony, signed for £86m in 2022, arrived at Old Trafford with high expectations from Manchester United fans. However, his performances have been disastrous, scoring only 12 goals for the Red Devils, with just five coming in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has struggled to impress new manager Rúben Amorim and is yet to start a game this season under the Portuguese tactician. Reports suggest that Antony is not part of Amorim’s plans.
At the start of the January transfer window, the Brazilian was linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Olympiacos and Real Betis expressing interest. However, the player preferred a move to the Spanish outfit.
Real Betis and Manchester United have reached an agreement for Antony to join Los Verdiblancos until the end of the season. The deal does not include a buy option clause, which means Antony will return to Manchester United in the summer.
Real Betis will cover less than half of Antony’s wages. Manchester United has included a penalty clause in the loan agreement, which will be triggered if Antony fails to meet a specified number of appearances.
