Amorim Draws Line in the Sand: Says he will prefer to name a goalkeeping coach in the squad over Rashford

Ruben Amorim left Marcus Rashford out of the matchday squad against Fulham. It was the 6th week the England international wasn’t involved.

He explained his decision to leave Marcus Rashford out of the matchday squad, stating that he would prefer to have a goalkeeping coach on the bench over a player who doesn’t give his best.

His words: “It’s always the same reason – the training, the way I see a footballer should behave in life. It’s every day, every detail.”

Amorim emphasized that his expectations apply to all players. “If things don’t change, I won’t change. It’s the same situation for every player. If you do the maximum and right things, we can use every player

“You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace, but I would put Manchester United goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day.” He added

Rashford responded by congratulating his teammates on the win via his Instagram handle.

Rashford has been seeking a move away from Old Trafford. Several clubs, including AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona, are reportedly interested in him. With him not being part of Amorim’s plan a move needs to be finalized before transfer deadline day.
