Emiliano Buendia Joins German Champions Bayer Leverkusen on Loan

Bayer Leverkusen has completed the signing of Emiliano Buendia on loan until the end of the season. Buendia’s arrival is intended to replace an injured player who will be out for the remainder of the season.

The opportunity to join the German champions proved irresistible for Buendia, who has struggled for game time at Aston Villa this season. He has made only 12 appearances in the Premier League and 4 in the Champions League.

Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, expressed confidence in Buendia’s abilities, stating: “Buendia is a good, technically versatile player who plays in a passionate and assertive way. He has played over 100 games in the demanding Premier League and brings a lot of experience to help us immediately achieve our goals.”

According to reports from Kicker, the loan deal includes an obligatory £20m clause, which would allow Bayer Leverkusen to acquire Buendia on a permanent basis if they choose to do so.
