Marcelo was honoured at the Santiago Bernabéu days after the Brazilian announced his retirement.

The entire stadium paid tribute to their legend and eternal captain, chanting his name: “Marcelo, Marcelo!”

Club captain Luka Modrić was also seen hailing the 36-year-old. The whole squad gathered for a picture while holding Marcelo’s shirt, which was presented to him by the club.

Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone was seen applauding the legend from the Atlético Madrid stands.

Marcelo spent 16 years at Real Madrid, winning 25 trophies: five European Cups, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, six LaLiga titles, two Copas del Rey, and five Spanish Super Cups.
