FC Barcelona has renewed the contract of one of their brightest La Masia graduates, Pau Cubarsi. The 18-year-old signed a contract extension until June 30, 2029. His release clause remains at £500m.
The club announced the news of Cubarsi’s contract renewal on their official X handle, sharing a picture of the player in a Barca shirt with the caption: “One club. One love.”
Cubarsi joined the Blaugrana from Girona’s youth academy and rose through the ranks at La Masia before being called up to the first team by former Barca coach Xavi Hernández Creus. The center-back made his debut last season on January 18, 2024, in a Copa del Rey match against Unionistas de Salamanca.
Since then, he has played 60 matches for Barca, winning the Supercopa de España. Cubarsi also represented Spain at the Paris Summer Olympics last year, helping the country claim a gold medal.
