Two first-half goals from Liverpool against Wolves helped the Reds go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The Reds came into this game focused on delivering a response after conceding late at Goodison Park last time out.
Luis Díaz gave Liverpool the lead in the 15th minute. In the 37th minute, he played a part in Liverpool’s second goal when he was brought down in the box by Wolves goalkeeper José Sá. Mohamed Salah stepped up and fired straight down the middle, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Wolves halved the deficit in the second half through an outside-the-box stunner from Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian’s strike would prove only to be a consolation, as Wolves couldn’t find a way back.
Arne Slot became the second-highest manager with the most points in his first 25 matches in the Premier League (60 points), only behind José Mourinho’s 64 points.
