Matchday 24 of the NPFL took place over the weekend, with title contenders Remo Stars dropping points against last season’s NPFL champions, Rangers International, at the Cathedral.
Heartland secured a controversial 2-1 victory over Shooting Stars, with the referee awarding two questionable penalties, sparking debate among fans.
Ikorodu City missed an opportunity to close the gap on the top spots after playing out a goalless draw against relegation-battling Nasarawa United.
Despite their loss to Rangers, Remo Stars remain at the top of the table with an eight-point lead. Ikorodu City moved up to sixth, and with a run of victories, they could climb to second place, which would secure them a CAF Champions League qualification spot.
