Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu announced yesterday that he recently underwent knee surgery, which will keep him out for the remainder of the season.
He shared the update on Instagram, stating:
*”I’m late posting this, but I had surgery on my right knee a few days ago, and I’m already starting rehabilitation to get back on track!
I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to tell my fans and supporters about my situation in the past six months. I have a lot to say, but right now, there are people waiting for me, and for them, I want to get back on the pitch and give my all again!”*
The Japan international admitted that this has been the most challenging period of his career, saying:
*”It has been the toughest period in my career for sure, and it carries on a bit more, but I won’t give up.
Thank you for your support, and see you soon at the stadium!”*
This marks the second knee procedure Tomiyasu has undergone since joining Arsenal. The defender has only played six minutes for the club this season.
