First Year Mass Communication Student Machete To Death At Rufus Giwa Poly

A student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO, Ondo State, identified as Oluwaseun, has been killed by yet to be identified individuals.

The deceased, who was a student of Mass Communication in the Polytechnic was allegedly machete to death outside the institution’s premises.

While describing the deceased death as gruesome, some sources within the institution disclosed that the attack took place at Opomulero Street in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Council Area of Ondo State.

A source who pleaded anonymous disclosed that the deceased had newly secured admission into the institution before he was killed.

“He (Oluwaseun) had spent just a few weeks on campus. He was also a course representative and a musician.

“He was a fresher who had been on campus for only three to four weeks. In fact, he was our course representative. It is painful that we lost him so soon. Sadly, he was attacked with a machete.”

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated that an investigation had begun in order to unearth those behind the killing.
