The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a post revealed that there is an ongoing investigation into an alleged murder of Oduaga Mujeed Igbayitayo who died in police custody.
According to report, Igbayitayo was invited by the Ikota police Command over an argument he had with a female neighbor that took place on the 11th of February.
However, he allegedly died in police custody and was taken to Epe Mortuary, though the police reportedly denied having the deceased in their custody until they were informed that the security to Igbayitayo’s Estate saw them.
SP Hundeyin in a post disclosed autopsy is being carried out while some member of the security operatives are currently locked up
In his words: “Investigations have since commenced. The Investigating Police Officer (IPO) and the complainant are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.
“Meanwhile, an autopsy is about being carried out to determine the cause of death, after which further necessary actions will follow.
“Members of the public are assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out and any person(s) found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.” He added.
