The former Vice President of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar , former governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir El-Rufai among other delegates paid condolence visit to the family of late Chief Edwin Clark on Friday.
The delegate reminded the family that the passing of the state man was not only a loss to the family, PANDEF, and the Niger Delta but the whole of Nigeria that he had adopted as his constituency.
Clark was former federal commissioner of information and respected leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), who led illustrious life marked by dedicated service, at different times, to the nation and his community as a councillor, state and federal cabinet member.
He was also a passionate advocate for resource control, economic and environmental justice in the Niger Delta.
Abubakar said the deceased nationalist “work was defined by his pan-Nigerian credentials.
“The best way to immortalise him is for our leaders to promote unity and inclusiveness for which he lived and died for. “
