Liverpool moved 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League after a 2-0 win against Manchester City.

Liverpool took a step closer to their second Premier League title with a dominant victory over the Cityzens.

Coming into the game, the Reds aimed to capitalize on Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to West Ham, and they did so in style.

Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead in the 14th minute. The goal was a well-worked training ground move—Alexis Mac Allister played a pass from a corner to Dominik Szoboszlai, who whipped the ball into the box for Salah. The Egyptian forward fired past Ederson to break the deadlock.

Szoboszlai and Salah combined again to double the visitors’ advantage, but this time, the roles were reversed. Salah turned provider, setting up Szoboszlai, who found the back of the net. Salah’s involvement in the goal took his goal contributions for the season to 51.

After the game, Mohamed Salah told Sky Sports: “It is incredible. It is a very hard place to come and play. They are a tough team, and they have an incredible manager. I am glad, in the end, we won the game. It is special, especially when you are in the title race. It is incredible.”

Dominik Szoboszlai also spoke to Sky Sports about the first goal: “It was not the best assist I gave to him! We practiced it yesterday, and hopefully, we can do it more times. Finally, he could also find me—it does not happen every time!”

Mohamed Salah is now Liverpool’s joint-third all-time top scorer, tied with Gordon Hodgson on 241 goals. Only two players have scored more for the club: Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285).
