Prime Minister Keir Starmer Congratulates Canada New P.M., Wishes To Deepen UK-Canada Relationship

The Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Keir Starmer in a post on X congratulated the newly appointed P.M of Canada, Mark Carney while he wishes the outgoing P.M, Justin Tradeau the very best as he stepped down from administration.

Starmer’s post read: “Congratulations to @MarkJCarney on his appointment as Canada’s new Prime Minister.

“I look forward to working closely with him on shared international priorities, including in the G7, and to further deepening the UK-Canada relationship together.

“My best wishes to @JustinTrudeau as he steps down from the role. I wish him well in his future endeavours.” He added.

Trudeau took office on November 4, 2015 and served the country for ten years.

The incoming P.M is the former governor of the Canadian central bank and Bank of England that beat three rivals in the Liberal Party’s leadership contest in a landslide.

Carney is expected to be sworn in the coming days and will lead the Liberals in the next general election, which could be called in the coming weeks.
