Alisson’s Efforts Weren’t Enough, Liverpool Crashed Out Of The Champions League.

Liverpool’s Champions League dreams were dashed after they lost 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

PSG came into this tie on the back foot after a 1-0 loss to Liverpool at the Parc des Princes.

Ousmane Dembélé motivated PSG with an early goal, helping the French side turn the tie around.

PSG were the better side across the two legs, with an expected goal tally of 5.33, while Liverpool only managed 1.98. Salah was nowhere to be found on the night, as he was completely restrained by Nuno Mendes.

Despite Liverpool’s loss, Alisson was praised for his goalkeeping heroics. He prevented 3.55 goals against PSG over the two legs, based on xG on target.

PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma showed why he is considered one of the best in the world during the penalty shootout, saving two shots from Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones.
