Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim praised Patrick Dorgu for urging the referee to overturn a penalty he had been awarded against Real Sociedad.
Amorim told a press conference: “It depends, it is the right thing to do so I am quite proud of him but I cannot say if it is 0-0 or losing I would have the same response.
“A good performance from him. He got stronger during the match.” The United Manager added.
It happened that the Danish wing-back was felled by Aritz Elustondo for the second penalty United were awarded in their 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.
He looked to have won another spot-kick when Hamara Traore challenged him in the box.
However, he went towards the referee and gestured with his hands to make it clear that Traore had won the ball and that it was not a penalty. The decision was promptly overturned.
The 20-year-old has vowed to continue making the attacking runs that Amorim brought him to Manchester United to produce, asked what it is like to play alongside the likes of Casemiro and Fernandes, Dorgu told MUTV:
“It is obviously nice to play with these players; they have so much quality on the ball and it is easy for other players to connect with them.
“They are finding me well, so I will just keep doing it.” He added
Dorgu joked that he wants some shooting advice from Fernandes: “I think Bruno needs to teach me a little bit! But it will come soon,” he added.
