Trump Confirms Death of ISIS Leader
Trump’s statement read:
“Today, the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed. He was relentlessly hunted down by our intrepid warfighters. His miserable life was terminated, along with another member of ISIS, in coordination with the Iraqi Government and the Kurdish Regional Government. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH!”
The targeted airstrike, executed on March 13 in Iraq’s Al Anbar Province, was carried out by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces in collaboration with Iraqi Intelligence and Security Forces. Video footage captures the precision strike that led to the death of the high-ranking ISIS figure.
U.S. Forces Strike ISIS Leadership
According to CENTCOM, the operation successfully eliminated the Global ISIS #2 leader, the Chief of Global Operations, and a member of the Delegated Committee. Following the strike, U.S. and Iraqi forces secured the site and identified both terrorists, who were found wearing unexploded suicide vests.
The identification of Abu Khadijah was confirmed through DNA analysis. The sample used for comparison was collected during a prior raid in which he narrowly escaped.
U.S. Commander Vows Continued Anti-Terror Operations
General Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, emphasized the commitment to eradicating terrorist threats. He stated:
“Abu Khadijah was one of the most important ISIS members in the entire global ISIS organization. We will continue to kill terrorists and dismantle their organizations that threaten our homeland and U.S., allied, and partner personnel in the region and beyond.”
The Global Fight Against ISIS
The successful elimination of Abu Khadijah marks another milestone in the ongoing global efforts to dismantle ISIS leadership. The coordinated operation demonstrates the continued partnership between U.S. forces, Iraqi security agencies, and Kurdish allies in combating terrorism.
