South African opposition leader Julius Malema during address at Sharpeville Rally on Human Rights day described the events of the 21 March 1960 when at least 69 people were killed by the then apartheid regime and 180 wounded as a declaration of war.
He stressed the human rights of South Africans have not changed even today:“Our people stood courageously against injustice, demanding an end to the Pass Law that restricted their movement in their own land. But instead of being met with dialogue, they were met with bullets.
“Sharperville was not just massacre. It was a declaration of war by the apartheid regime against the black majority. It was a moment that exposed the true brutality of white minority rule to the entire world,” says Malema.
While calling for unity among blacks and Africa as a whole, he admonished that greediness for property should not entice a black man to kill another, urging Mozambique to strive for peace and achieve it.
“We must no longer allow a situation where black kills other black people because they want riches of that country, Africans must unite everywhere and do not find it easy to kill one another during these difficult times”
Meanwhile, Malema says the US is not interested in a diplomatic relationship with South Africa, believing that it only want to dominate
“The USA is not interested in diplomacy. The USA is interested in dominance over us by any means necessary and we must stand up for ourselves because we represent a historical mission and that mission is the return of the land.
“Whether Donald Trump likes it or not, we are going to fight for the return land,” he added
The EFF leader further urged the people not to be scared of Elon Musk, a close ally to the U.S president, world richest man and an indigene of South African who has consistently voice that the blacks hate the whites’ South Africans, listing U.S alongside France, U.K., and Ukraine as their enemies.
In his words: “We must never be intimidated by Elon Musk and everybody who stand with him, all those who are offered an opportunity to go to America because there is a genocide against them in South Africa, you are free to go.
“The borders are opened for racists to leave South Africa, we have no home for racists in South Africa, our friends will never be United Kingdom, our friends will never be France, our friends will never be USA, they were never there for us during difficult times, and Palestine was there for us.
Russia trained us, gave us education, gave us money to fight the apartheid government, we will never stand with Ukraine and we don’t want Zelenskyy to visit South Africa because he is a puppet of the western forces.”
