Spanish media outlet Marca reported that Real Madrid has renewed Raul Asencio’s contract.
The new contract includes a release clause of £100 million. The young center-back had his breakout season this year, playing 28 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions.
There has not been any official announcement concerning the contract extension from Real Madrid, but prominent journalists such as Fabrizio Romano have confirmed the news. The extension ensures that Raul Asencio can continue his development at the Santiago Bernabéu for both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team.
Raul Asencio’s new contract will also see him earn a pay rise, as he will receive £6.2 million in the upcoming season, with a structured increase in his wages that could see him reach €9 million by the final year of the contract.
