Real Madrid in Talks to Sign Trent Alexander-Arnold

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Real Madrid are in talks to finalize the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold has been at Liverpool since the age of six, spending 21 years at the club. A local lad, he was handed his first-team debut by Jürgen Klopp in October 2016. Since then, he has made 349 appearances for the Reds, playing a key role in winning every available trophy with the club.

The 26-year-old is now in the final year of his contract, and many Liverpool fans view his potential move to Real Madrid as a betrayal. Reports suggest that the England international is seeking a new experience in another country.

If Alexander-Arnold departs, he will follow in the footsteps of Steve McManaman and Michael Owen, two former Liverpool players who made the switch to Real Madrid—moves that still leave some Liverpool supporters resentful.
