CDS, Christopher Musa Charges Special Operation Force Trainees to Maintain Unrelenting Drive26th March 2025

General Christopher Musa, Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) has urged 800 trainees of the Special Operation Forces to intensify their efforts and achieve their training objectives. He emphasized the significance of this training in fostering excellence, resilience, and adaptability in addressing evolving security challenges .

A statement by the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General, Tukur Gusau on Tuesday said Gen. Musa described the trainees as “vanguards of a new chapter in our defence narrative” and stressed the importance of Nigeria’s forces being well-trained, equipped, and capable of responding swiftly to security demands. He expressed optimism that the Special Operation Force will play a crucial role in defeating terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats.

The training marks a significant milestone in enhancing national security and ensuring the armed forces are well-equipped to address contemporary challenges.

General Musa also promised enhanced security cover for the newly established Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, to enable the institution to meet the Presidential Directive of September 2025.

The Chief of Defence Staff has consistently emphasized the importance of collaboration and capacity building in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

The CDS however, thanked the Ministry of Defence for taking the bold steps in ensuring the success of the event.
