Novak Djokovic defeated Sebastian Korda at the Hard Rock Stadium to advance to his first Miami Open semifinal since 2016. The Serbian secured a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory to keep his title hopes alive.
With this win, Djokovic became the oldest player to reach the semifinals of an ATP Masters 1000 event.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Djokovic said, “I am very relieved I won in straight sets. I was quite nervous, to be honest, because you never know what comes from Korda. He’s so aggressive, so talented, and can play any shot. I was on the back foot, and it was a tense match.”
Djokovic will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the last four as he aims for a seventh Miami Open title.
