Portuguese player and Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday announced the passing away of Aurelio da Silva Pereira, the scout who discovered him at the age of 12.
The legendary scout director picked up on the talent of Ronaldo during his youth years at Nacional in Madeira.
The Portuguese who expressed sadness on his post on X posted one of the picture he snapped with his late scout, to appreciate his impact in his life.
His post read: “One of the greatest symbols of world training has left us, but his legacy will live on forever.
“I will never stop being grateful for everything he did for me and for so many other players. Until forever, Mr. Aurélio, thank you for everything. Rest in peace.” He prayed.
The late CP was known for Sporting’s youth recruitment since 1988, Pereira brought teenagers Paulo Futre, Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Lisbon outfit.
