Al-Hilal Omdurman have been knocked out of the CAF Champions League, but what a remarkable campaign it has been. They topped Group A with ten points from six games—three wins, one draw, and two losses—in a group that included Algerian giants MC Alger, Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans, and Congolese side TP Mazembe.
Coming into the tournament, few gave them a chance, but Al-Hilal believed, and they delivered a spirited performance.
Their country, Sudan, is currently at war, but that never stopped them from dreaming and giving everything on the pitch. They played for their fans, their flag, and the Sudanese people, showing resilience and passion throughout the campaign.
Al-Hilal reached the quarter-finals, where they were eventually eliminated by 12-time champions Al Ahly, losing 2-0 on aggregate.
Still, Al-Hilal Omdurman can hold their heads high. They didn’t go down without a fight, and their incredible journey during such a challenging time is a testament to what hard work, belief, and determination can achieve—even against the odds.
