Salah Extends Liverpool Stay Until 2027

Mohamed Salah has signed a two-year contract extension at Liverpool, extending his stay at the club until June 2027. The Egyptian forward has already spent eight years with the Reds, and by the time his new deal expires, he will have completed a decade at Anfield.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Salah said:

“I’d like to say to our fans, I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future, we’re going to win more trophies.”

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was full of praise for Salah, stating:

“If I’d put myself in the shoes of a player we might want to sign, it is always nice to tell them while presenting our project that Mo Salah has signed a new contract.”

He added: “Keeping Mo Salah is excellent news for us. It’s also a compliment to Richard Hughes. Richard and FSG did very well. The club put a lot of effort into getting Mo to stay… and effort mostly means money!”

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 for £42 million, and he has more than justified the investment. He has made 393 appearances for the club, scoring 243 goals and providing 109 assists.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah has won every major trophy available: the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
