Kebbi Government To Control Newly Constructed Central Motor Park, Limits NURTW Role

The Kebbi State Government has announced that the newly constructed Central Motor Park in Birnin-Kebbi will be directly managed by the state, with limited involvement from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

While talking to journalists during a tour of the facility, State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad, emphasized that the government aims to oversee the park’s operations to ensure efficient management and revenue generation.

He stated, “The state government constructed the park to generate revenue and reduce unemployment, and it will take control of its activities without much interference from the NURTW.

The motor park, built at a cost of over ₦2 billion by an indigenous construction company, is part of the state’s efforts to modernize infrastructure and create job opportunities.

He explained how the facility is expected to enhance transportation services and contribute to the state’s economic development.
