Aaron Ramsey appointed Cardiff interim coach for the final games of the season as the club hopes to retain Championship status

Cardiff City has sacked Omer Riza following the club’s 2-0 loss to Sheffield United.

Cardiff sits second bottom on the EFL Championship table and are a point from safety. The club has only won 9 games in 43 league matches this season.

Arsenal legend Aaron Ramsey will lead Cardiff City for the final three games of the season, starting from a trip to Oxford United.

Ramsey is still a registered player for Cardiff but is currently injured, the club has decided he will lead the team  in this difficult moments because of his maturity and experience.

The club announced Ramsey’s interim appointment on its official X handle. The statement reads: “Cardiff City FC can confirm that Omer Riza has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager.

Aaron Ramsey will lead the Club for the remaining three games of the Championship season, beginning with Monday’s match at home to Oxford United.”
