“One of my deepest commitments is ensuring that no one is left behind, especially our most vulnerable residents and today, in furtherance of that goal, we empowered over 1,700 Lagosians through the Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI), an initiative driven by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to equip our people, especially women, with practical skills, tools, and capital to build a more secure future.
“When we launched MESI, the goal was to tackle poverty at its roots by helping families create sustainable income through skills they already have or want to develop and the impact of the initiative is visible.
“This bottom-up approach is deliberate. We’ve invested close to N10 billion so far because we believe that real, lasting growth comes from the grassroots. The informal sector is the heartbeat of our economy, and by empowering it, we are strengthening the very foundation of our state’s progress.
“To all the beneficiaries, these tools and funds are not the end, they’re just the beginning. Use them wisely, grow your businesses, and in doing so, help build a more prosperous Lagos for all of us.” Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu
