Man Who Kills A Police Officer Days After Police Shot His 18-Year-Old Son Walks Past 30 Officers Defiantly In Courtroom

Ryan Hinton, 18, was fatally shot by Cincinnati police on May 1, 2025, during a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.

Police reported that the suspect was among four in a stolen Kia SUV and fled, pointing a gun at an officer, dropped a gun, picked it up, and pointed it at an officer again, thus prompting his shooting, a Glock was recovered at the scene.

Blurry body camera footage raises questions about whether he aimed the gun, his family disputes the police account, describing him as a “fun, loving kid” and “non-violent” questioning the police narrative

However evidence suggests the father, Rodney Hinton Jr. killed a different policeman, not the one who shot his son, Ryan.

Ryan was shot by a Cincinnati police officer on May 1, 2025, while Deputy Larry Henderson, killed by Hinton Jr. the next day, was a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy.

They were from different agencies, with no direct connection reported. Ongoing investigations may clarify further details.

Based on available evidence, the car involved in the incident with Ryan Hinton was likely stolen, Cincinnati police stated it was a Kia SUV stolen from Edgewood, Kentucky, tracked via GPS to the scene on May 1, 2025. News reports from Fox19, CNN, and others confirm this, citing police.

Ryan Hinton’s family, while questioning the shooting, has not disputed the car’s stolen status, with their attorney acknowledging it.

The incident remains under review
