A homeowner was forced to move into his own house together with squatters after police told him that the squatters couldn’t be removed under Illinois state law.

Police and courts said they couldn’t do anything. Squatters asked for $10,000 to move out. Owner ended up paying them $4,300 because he was afraid they’d damage his house.
