Vast majority of those defaulters are the same Nigerian multi-trillionaires and multi-Billionaires who also own Properties in US, Europe, Dubai, etc where they promptly pay taxes and levies as the Laws of those Host Govts demand of them.
They don’t even wait for officials of those Govts to remind them because they know the penalties involved.
Their behaviours is sad demonstration of UNPATRIOTISM in the superlative sense of the word. Don’t we love the massive Infrastructural Revolution taking place in FCT since Wike became Minister? Yes, we do, but where will the needed funds come from to continue on this Revolution if not also from IGR (prompt payment of Ground Rents)?
I don’t live or own any property or do business in FCT but I am happy at the new networks of roads when I visit. It makes me a proud Nigerian.
Please, in all we do, we must put the overriding interest of our beloved Country, Nigeria, far above all. We must love and protect our Nigeria before any other.
This is not about President Tinubu, Minister Wike, APC or 2027 Election. No, please! It is our religious, moral and constitutional duties as Citizens of Nigeria to so do. We must rise to make our dear Nigeria work again and rise to claim its once enviable position in comity of Nations of the World.
Note: I am not a member of APC or a BATists but a Patriotic Nigerian. I have never benefitted from APC or PBAT. I am affected by the unjustified high cost of living in Nigeria.
I hate to pay above N50/L for Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene or 1kg of LPG because for decades now, I have continued to insist that these Petroleum products sell conveniently for not more than N50/L or Kg for LPG across Nigeria and NNPC will still make profit for our Federation. I speak with authority on this because of my knowledge and experience of the Petroleum Sector.
It is the reason I advised both PMB and PBAT to appoint themselves substantive Ministers of Petroleum Resources to help deploy our Armed Forces to smoke out the unpatriotic Nigerians and their foreign collaborators in our Petroleum Sector.
Enough is Enough!
Our Nigeria shall overcome and must rise again.
Comrade (Engr) Igbini Odafe Emmanuel.
