Elon Musk Role As Special Government Employee Ends In The Trump Administration With Loud Ovations.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has stepped aside from his role as a Special Government Employee in the Trump administration, where he led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk was a Special Government Employee, limited to 130 days of service whose term ended today with his announcement on X where he appreciated president Trump for the opportunity to serve United State

He wrote: ““As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrumpfor the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.

“The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”

As a Special Government Employee, Musk led DOGE, claiming $160 billion in savings by terminating wasteful contracts, like $255 million from 269 contracts, and modernizing IT systems, such as digitizing the OPM retirement process.

His tenure focused on reducing wasteful federal spending, leading to significant changes within several federal agencies.

DOGE also cleaned Social Security records and supported voter integrity measures. However, these efforts face criticism for potential costs of $135 billion in lost productivity, legal challenges, and service disruptions.

Concerns about Musk’s business conflicts and political motivations persist, with public opinion divided, as 54% view him unfavorably. The true impact of DOGE remains debated amid ongoing scrutiny.

Despite his attempt to codify DOGE’s proposed spending cuts which met with resistance in Congress, reflecting broader political tensions and debates on government spending, his leaving was with resounding ovation as a lot of Americans appreciated his input in cutting wasteful spending.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller stated: “The work DOGE has done to eliminate government waste and corruption — the rot embedded deep within Washington — is among the most valuable services ever rendered to government. And the work has only just begun.”

Rep Anna Paulina Luna Wrote: “I’m fed up. We fought tooth and nail to get President Trump back in office— the best president of our lifetime— and yet this Congress has no urgency. No backbone. No vision. We can’t even lock in DOGE spending cuts— an issue we’ve been complaining about for nearly a decade. It’s embarrassing. We don’t need more grandstanding, we need results.”

Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene: “Thank you @elonmusk for your incredible efforts and sacrifices you made to launch DOGE to save America from our national debt crisis. This should only be the beginning of cutting waste, fraud, and abuse and delivering government efficiency for the American people.”

Nick Sortor: “I am legitimately saddened to see Elon Musk go. Can’t say I’ve ever said that about a government employee. Ever.”

@DefiyantlyFree wrote: “We can’t thank  @elonmusk enough for what he did with DOGE. It was one of the best initiatives undertaken that we have seen in a long time.”

However Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts submission differs from others as she couldn’t wait to see the last of Musk, she wrote on X: “Good riddance — but Musk isn’t off the hook for his chaos and corruption. We must hold him accountable
