PSG Humiliate Inter in Record UCL Final as Enrique Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Daughter

Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Milan 5–0 in the UEFA Champions League — the biggest ever defeat in a Champions League final.

The French side was ruthless on the night. Achraf Hakimi gave PSG the lead in the 13th minute, while Désiré Doué doubled their advantage in the 20th. PSG put the game out of Inter’s reach in the second half, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Mayulu sealing the humiliation, handing Inter Milan their biggest-ever defeat in a Champions League final.

After the game, Luis Enrique wore an emotional shirt featuring the face of his late daughter, Xana — a photograph taken after Barcelona’s Champions League win in 2015. Xana died of cancer in August 2019.

Enrique was proud of his players and backed Ousmane Dembélé to win the Ballon d’Or:

“I’d give the Ballon d’Or to Mr. Ousmane Dembélé. The way he defended tonight… only that can be worth the Ballon d’Or. This is how you lead a team — goals, titles, leadership, defending, how he was pressing. Ousmane is my Ballon d’Or. No doubts at all.”

Dembélé provided two assists in the final, finished the season with 48 goal contributions, and was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season.
