Deacon Thwarts Wayne Church Attack, Security Guard Injured

An armed assailant drove a truck into CrossPointe Community Church, exited with a rifle, and fired at the congregation on Sunday in Wayne, Michigan.

However, the attacker was struck by a church deacon using a Ford F-150 truck and then fatally shot by an armed church security guard.

Senior Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr. confirming this to Detroit News stating: “a deacon ran the shooter over, giving a security guard time to shoot the armed attacker outside the church.

“He was run over by one of our members who saw this happening when he was coming into church,” Kelly added

A security guard, was injured during the incident, while the shooter was neutralized.

Deputy Director Federal Bureau of Investigation—FBI— Dan Bongino in a statement said : “Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support.”
